1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Light Up, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
2. Description of Service
Light Up is a platform that connects tourists with local creators who design walking tours. Users can browse, purchase, and follow curated routes created by local guides.
3. User Accounts
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to use our services
- One person may not maintain more than one account
4. Creator Terms
If you are a creator (Premium subscriber) publishing routes:
- You retain ownership of your content
- You grant Light Up a license to display and distribute your routes
- You receive 70% of each sale of your routes
- Payouts are processed weekly through Stripe Connect
- You must ensure your content is accurate and does not violate any laws
- You are responsible for any taxes on your earnings
5. Media Content (Images and Videos)
Creators are fully responsible for the media content they upload to their routes. Only the following is permitted:
- Images and videos of your own authorship
- Images from Pixabay (pixabay.com) with royalty-free license
- Images from Wikipedia/Wikimedia Commons, citing the original author
- Content with Creative Commons license, respecting attribution terms
The creator is solely responsible for ensuring they have the necessary rights to use any image or video. Light Up is not responsible for copyright infringements committed by creators. If a creator uploads content that infringes copyright, the creator assumes all legal responsibility.
For embedded YouTube videos, the creator must ensure they have permission from the video owner or that the video allows embedded playback. Light Up is not responsible for third-party video content.
Violation of these rules may result in content removal and/or suspension of the creator's account.
6. Purchases and Payments
- All payments are processed securely through Stripe
- Prices are displayed in the local currency
- Purchases are final unless the route is significantly different from its description
- Premium subscriptions are billed monthly at $9.99 USD
7. Refund Policy
Refunds may be requested within 7 days of purchase if the route content is significantly inaccurate or unavailable. Contact support for refund requests.
8. Prohibited Content
You may not upload or share content that:
- Is illegal, harmful, or offensive
- Infringes on intellectual property rights
- Contains false or misleading information
- Promotes dangerous activities
- Violates the privacy of others
9. Intellectual Property
The Light Up name, logo, and platform are owned by us. Creators retain ownership of their routes and content but grant us a license to display and distribute it through our platform.
10. Limitation of Liability
Light Up provides routes created by third-party creators. We are not responsible for the accuracy of route information, safety of locations, or any damages resulting from following a route. Always use your judgment and follow local laws.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time through the settings page.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Germany. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Germany.
