Story
Rafael Pombo. Colombia's greatest writer of children's stories. Born here on Calle 7 in eighteen thirty-three. But this house holds a secret: his father was a military man who wanted his son to be an engineer.
Lino de Pombo was a general, a diplomat, a soldier. He built Rafael's mind in that world. But Rafael's mind had other plans. He wanted to write.
His father told him: 'I see you are an engineer without works and without calling for the trade.' Rafael answered: 'Then I will be a poet.' And his father said: 'Very well. A poet you shall be.'
He chose words. He wrote for children. Stories of mischief, wonder, rebellion. Kids and adults saw themselves. They learned they could think differently, dream bigger.
I'll take you to where he chose his path. Where a soldier's son became the voice of a nation. Words mattered more than weapons here.
